It's OFFICIAL!!!!

It's true! I am officially a student teacher! I know I can hardly believe it myself! I will be at Mt. Logan Middle School in a severe unit for 2 months and then at Edith Bowen Elementary in a fifth grade classroom for the last two months. It is hard to believe that I am really done with college classes and now what remains is my student teaching. Even harder for me to grasp is the fact that I will have my own classroom this fall! Or the fact that I will have two bachelors! I feel truly blessed to have been able to go through the schooling that I have and the opportunities that it has given me. More than anything I am truly grateful for the fact that I am able to do something that I love. I believe that it is what I have always been meant to do. Thanks to those who have supported me, loved me, and encouraged me-especially when I wanted to give up. My family has played such a large role in it, as have many of my roommates, and some truly good friends. The Special Education Program not only gave me a great education but it gave me the opportunity to meet and become friends with some of the most amazing people I have ever met. Thanks to my immediate family, my extended family, and my SPED family. Without you I could not have dreamed of making it this far!

Keeping on Keeping on...

So I am still alive...I know I have been extremely horrible at keeping this up to date! Josh and I have been doing really good. Josh and I both celebrated our birthdays and had a great time! Josh has been busy with work and school has been keeping me rather busy as well. I have been working with a wonderful teacher who has let me teach as much as I want. The class of third graders has been really fun and I think that they have taught me more than I have taught them. I will be finishing up my practicum this next week and then one week of classes and the semester will be over! YAY!!! I am really excited to start my student teaching in January. The pictures below are from when we did our family pictures with my side of the family I also added a picture of Josh and I with Monika and Steve when we went to Homecoming! We had a great time going to dinner and the dance with them. Monika and I try to get together at least once a week which can be difficult with crazy schedules like ours...Love ya Monika!

Hard weekend

Man this last little while has been a little crazy! School has been good but is definitely keeping me busy with little projects. I am for sure missing my SPED group but I am finding some friends in my new classes as well. Josh is working a lot and had to work a couple of night shifts last week that put him home after 10:30 and I have early classes so we didn't get to spend tons of "us" time. So we decided that this last weekend would be some major us time!
Friday night we had a date night just the two of us. On Saturday morning we were able to go to Josh's old bosses' son's baptism (whew that was a mouthful) where Josh was able to stand in and help with the confirmation. It is really fun to be able to see him use his priesthood. We had also decided to go to the temple that afternoon with two of our good friends...here comes the scary part of the weekend. While we were at the temple I passed out and had a small seizure. Those of you who know anything about seizures know that they wipe you out. So instead of going to dinner and playing Rock Band with our friends as planned I got wheeled out of the temple in a wheelchair and went home to rest for the rest of the day/night.
My body still hasn't fully recovered and I am still getting dizzy at times...so hopefully we will be able to get into the doctor and figure out what the heck is wrong with me (besides what we already know:))I'm sure all is fine but we'll see! Don't be worried all is well! I'll let you know if it's anything too serious-I'm pretty sure that I'm just crazy lol

It's almost here!

So I can't believe it is already here! I am getting married in 10 days! And going through the temple in 3! It is something that at times is difficult to comprehend. I am so excited for both events yet nervous of the unknown at the same time. The wonderful thing is that I have no doubt how much Josh loves me. And more than anything I love that feeling-knowing that I am completely loved even if I am a dork :) I may not be blogging for awhile since I am going to Salt Lake until the wedding. Only 10 more days! Oh and Josh just so you know I love you! Mucho!

Another insane weekend...

The weekend started a little early for me...I drove to Salt Lake on Thursday night so that we could start early Friday morning. I drove to my sister's house and stayed the night and went through some of my old boxes of stuff. Friday morning we drove out to finish up things for centerpieces. We then drove out to finalize cake and reception food orders. After all this we drove out to try on my dress and pick up my dress!!!! Yay! Then my sister and I went and got our hair dyed and nails done since I had bridals Saturday night. I then went to a late night movie (The Dark Night) with my mom and two youngest siblings.
Saturday was another day that started out early-we had a meeting with the florist to finalize things. After that we headed to my sister TeKarri's for a bridal shower. I had lots of family and friends show up and got some great things to start my new family with. Saturday night we did bridals-I would put some up but Josh would see me in my dress :).
Sunday we ended up going to my Grandma's homecoming. She just returned from a mission in the Washington, D.C. temple. It was great to see her but more to hear her and her wonderful wisdom. I am proud to have her as my grandmother. Josh met the rest of my crazy family. We had a great time and it was wonderful to see all my aunts and uncles that I haven't seen for a few months. Below are some pictures of my new hair and one of me and Josh at the homecoming.

Good times

This last weekend was a party! Saturday my friend Angie threw a bridal shower for me-it was GREAT!! Even if I answered questions a little differently than Josh :) We played some fun games and got to visit. I even got to feel like a princess!

Sunday Josh and I drove up to Idaho Falls to hear his mission president and wife report on their mission. It was fun to be able to meet some of his old companions. Especially those that were in the MTC with him-these were the guys whose voices I heard and sent some things to right after Josh left on his mission. Altogether there was four of the original MTC group including Josh. Two of them are married and one will be getting married August 1st and then we follow on the 16th! The two pictures below are of the original four and their better halves ;) and then Josh and I with his mission president!
After all of that we drove to Burley and visited with his grandparents. They made us a great dinner and it was fun chatting with them. I can't wait to officially be part of the family!

We then headed back to Logan. All in all we spent about 7 hours in the car :) I ended up with a sunburn on one arm because I was in the passenger seat-but it was all worth it! It was a great weekend that was fun to share with Josh.

Independence Day

The 4th of July is one of my favorite holidays to celebrate. I love this country and all that it stands for. We have a tradition in our family to go to the Western Stampede on July 3rd with my aunts and uncles and their families. This year not everyone was able to make it in the extended family, but it was tons of fun. All my siblings and their families were there!

We always start out the morning of the 4th with a street party on the street behind us. We sing the national anthem as well America the Beautiful and say a prayer before beginning a wonderful breakfast.
After our breakfast Josh and I went to his house to hangout with his family and spend some time with them. We met up with my family for Hancock (good movie by the way)because we always try to see a matinee movie (if a good one has come out). We parted ways with my family and went to barbecue with his. After the barbecue and some more hanging out we decided to go to TeKarri's for fireworks! It was so fun seeing my nephews and seeing them be excited about fireworks. They are growing up way too fast though :) TeKarri and Troy as well as Karli and Russ both bought little shitzu's in the last few weeks-Sir Edward Chewbacca and Jaxson-they are ADORABLE! Both were brought along for the festivities!
After all of this we moved some things on Saturday and then headed back to Logan for one of Josh's friends reception. I also had to work Saturday night. All in all this weekend has made me see how truly blessed I am-both in the country that I live in and with the family I have been blessed with.

Wonderful Weekend!

This weekend started out with a BANG!! Thursday I was able to see on of my best friends and old roomies Steph since her uncle was getting married here in Logan. Itwas fun seeing her and getting to catch up! It reminded me how much I love her!
Then one of my good friends Andy decided to take a couple days off of working down at Zion's to come visit! We met up for the midnight drag races in Magna on Friday night. Lainey and Steve joined us as well as my little sister and her friend. Even Art came along.
One of my best friends Monika was getting married on Saturday morning so Andy and I headed back up to Logan after the drags-because of construction we made it up here around 4:15-4:30 in the morning! I had to be at the temple for the wedding at 9:30 so it was pretty crazy. I had so much fun though with 18 kids all under 15! Monika and Steve were glowing! It was an amazing experiance that I wouldn't ever trade. The open house was wonderful and the happy couple got on the road.
Saturday afternoon Andy and I got to hang out and even took a nice walk around campus. The girls from upstairs came down and watched a movie with us and then we all kind of passed out. It was really nice being able to go to the ward up here for a change. I have really missed some of the great people up here!
All in all it was a wonderful weekend!

Lucky

These last few days have been a doozy...but as I have been frustrated with some things happening around me that have been less than desirable. But as I have thought more and more I am realizing how truly blessed I am and how the Lord's hand has been a part of my life. I am so lucky to have someone in my life that loves me regardless of everything that I have ever done and how stupid I can sometimes be. I'm a pretty stubborn brat and lucky to have a patient man that loves me. My family is also a great strength to me and have been incredibly supportive in all that we do. So thank you to everyone who has loved me and supported me throughout all my life.

Congrats to Riley!

Yesterday(Thursday) I was able to go to Salt Lake and see my brother graduate from my alma mater-Go Pirates! This year marked the 4 year mark for me. Watching my brother graduate was a whole lot of fun! He learned the hard way the value of education but we are all thrilled he graduated! He has worked hard and is becoming a great man. It is had to believe that the little boy I used to tease and torment is now much bigger and stronger than me. All of our family was able to be there and seeing my sister's and their families was wonderful.
Remember Riley-this is the beginning of an all new chapter in your life-Congrats buddy-I sure do love you! Strive to be all that you can be and show this world what you can do!

I had to show this picture too...I put J.D.'s hand over his heart to sing the National Anthem and he kept it there the entire time-he is so stinking cute!

Feeling like a princess....

You Are Snow White!
Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Pure and trusting. You are a gentle soul who can get along with just about anyone. Everyone you meet instantly falls in love with you. How can they resist? You have a pure, lovable nature that's irresistable. Just don't trust everyone who comes across your path.

Which Disney Princess Are You?

Week of Crap

Ok so this last week has been completely ridiculously difficult. School has been a pain in my rear end. Apparently you can do nothing but school when you take summer classes. 4 weeks to go through an entire textbook is pretty ambitious if you ask me. Then my computer got a virus. After that I ran into an ex and chatted for awhile-he still hasn't changed. I stubbed my toe pretty hard.
Then to make matters even more enjoyable my phone went kaput on Thursday. They have no explanation for it other than it is no good now. I wasn't able to get anything off of it-no contacts, no pictures, no ringtones, NOTHING-for those that don't know me my phone holds my life. I had some very important numbers and addresses on there. Things that can not be replaced. And because I had my phone for over a year it was no longer under warranty-meaning I had to pay for a new phone. One that looks just like my other one-except the features and options are completely different. Needless to say I am not a happy camper. Several other things have happened but I'll not bore you with the rest of my week of hell.

I will need your numbers! If you've got mine just send me a text with your name in it and I'll add you!

I stole this from a friends blog...it is a few minutes long but definitely worth the time. It's nice to stop and take a break from the world sometimes.

New

So I moved into my new apartment and I am finally feeling settled in. It is a small little basement apartment that is meant for 4 people but I am luckily only living with one other girl so we both have our own rooms :). I started classes on Monday as well-yeah no break for me. But they aren't too bad other than lots of homework because they are 4 week classes. Other than that life is just as crazy as usual! I am so blessed in my life and I am realizing more and more how lucky I truly am. The life I have been given is amazing and I don't think I have really expressed that. Over the last few days I have been talking to someone who is having some serious struggles with life. Ironically I was in the same place as he is at this time last year. As I look back at the last year and all that has happened I am surprised and amazed at the changes I have made in my life. But I know that I couldn't have done it alone. So I can look back and finally say that I am ok...that I have truly become happy with who I am and what I a becoming. Thanks to everyone who has helped in my journey.

I just wanted to say thanks to all the great people that are in the special ed department. To all those that have helped me get through this program!
